Gillis Ambassadors

Have you ever said to yourself “I want to do something for Gillis but…”? Maybe it’s because you work during the day, or didn’t really see any Gillis volunteer opportunities that tugged at your heart, or you wanted to do something special.

“When my wife and I visited Gillis several years ago, we saw what a difference Gillis makes in the lives of boys and young men who are at the must crucial stages of their lives. We believed that giving our money and time would help the boys and, consequently, our community. We believe that Gillis issues selfless love to those in need, and wanted to be a part of that sharing. When we heard that the Gillis Ambassadors were forming, we wanted to join those who are spreading the word of Gillis’ work."

Gillis Ambassadors will give of their time, money and talents in support of Gillis. They will build relationships throughout the community and establish a calendar of events that would be a balance of volunteer opportunities, social network and fund raising. This is an opportunity for you to enhance the mission of Gillis through relationship building, fund raising and special activities.

As part of their community service hours at Rockhurst High School, two young men volunteered at Gillis, working with the residential students. One day they looked around and realized that the common areas were not what they, as “typical” teenagers, would like to look at every day. So, they undertook a cottage renovation project. READ MORE
