A very talented GIllis Resident created a t-shirt design which inspired a team of volunteers. Gillis board member, Mike Miller helped direct the t-shirt design process. His team of Garrett Street, writer, and David Terrill, illustrator, made the inspiration come alive. The front of the shirt always represents the positives attributed to what Gillis provides while the back is an example of the opposite that can happen. The illustration style and superhero jargon were chosen so that kids of all ages (and hopefully adults) would wear the shirts and feel good about the fresh approach to the messaging. Below are the three themes:

 

 

• Front: “Dreams are my allies”, Back: “Fear is my foe”

• Front: “Belief is my trusted sidekick”, Back: “Doubt is my arch enemy”
• Front: “Hope is my superpower”, Back: “Limitations are my kryptonite”

Students in Gillis Day Treatment School have an opportunity to experience success in a classroom setting. Because of behavioral and/or emotional disorders children attending our school are challenged by a traditional classroom setting. Read More.
